Oh, and did I mention I made money on the deal?!?
Cortaid, for those who don't know like me, is an anti-itch cream. .5 oz tubes (picture right) are regular priced at $3.99, slightly larger tubes (middle) are priced at $5.99. This weeks Walgreens ad has a $2 off coupon in it! Hence the pretty green sign below.
Well back on 1/8, the SmartSource Insert had a $3 off any Cortaid Product coupon.
Oh yeaaaa...
Here's the Breakdown: Cortaid .5oz. (Walgreens)
Regular Price = $3.99. Price - Store Coupon ($2) - Manufacturer Coupon ($3) = $1.01 Moneymaker!
So here's the thing, the machine doesn't like the $3 manufacturer coupon for some reason. It totally should! If it honks at the cashier, get the manager to approve it (cause they will, they should). Now Walgreens policy should just make the price of the coupon make the item free, but since it has to be overrided they'll give you $5 credit on something that's $3.99. So, make sure you buy something else because you can't get cash back on the deal. I bought 2 Cortaid 5oz. tubes and 2 large bags of Doritos that were 2 for $4 w/ an in-store coupon. What did I pay for all of this....?
$1.98 plus tax....
As the cashier said when I left... "Well, that's a steal..."
